Transformative Justice Coalition

The Transformative Justice Coalition (TJC) is a nonpartisan 501(c)(3) nonprofit established in 2015 by Barbara Arnwine, President Emeritus of the Lawyer’s Committee for Civil Rights Under Law.

TJC seeks to be a catalyst for transformative institutional changes that bring about justice and equality in the United States and abroad.

#NoDEINoBuy

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) policies and practices are under attack by the Trump Administration and others. In the face of this onslaught, many corporations have voluntarily abandoned or curtailed their DEI policies. Many have noted that this represents “anticipatory compliance” driven by fear of retribution for maintaining DEI initiatives. The Transformative Justice Coalition (TJC) joins many others in asserting that racial and gender disparities and inequities in society continue to justify the need for DEI.  Therefore, we are launching this 2025 campaign to support and defend the critical DEI Initiatives in the corporate, academic and federal sector.

Igniting Change

Hi Igniters For Change! The Igniting Change Radio show, we will be talking about the continuation of the investigation into Amhaud Arbery’s killing, as well as an open discussion of the Trump’s Administration’s assault on our constitutional rights, civil rights, and voting rights.

TJC is participating in The Peoples’ Union USA Economic Blackout.

A grassroots movement is calling on Americans to abstain from shopping with major retailers on Feb. 28 as part of an “economic blackout.”

Why it matters: The economic protest comes as many everyday Americans struggle to keep up in the current financial landscape, characterized by high housing costs, surging egg prices and stubborn inflation.

TAKE ACTION

Hi Igniters For Change! The Igniting Change Radio show will feature special guests President Davis Gates, Tasha Dangerfield, and Jonnita Dockens. Our show will open with a thank you for those who participated in the Blackout Friday on February 28th. TJC Thanks all of the participants of the February 28, 2025 Economic Blackout: your united action sent a resounding message! By withholding your dollars, you made an undeniable stand for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Corporate responsibility—creating a profound shift that cannot be ignored. Your sacrifice was more than a statement; it was a bold declaration of unwavering commitment to justice and fairness, echoing far beyond a single day.

Rolling Protest Inspires Thousands

The Rolling Protest was launched in response to the authoritarian, racist and backwards policies of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and the Florida State Legislature. The policies were aimed to stop the teaching of black history in state funded schools; to stop the implementation and funding of diversity, equity and inclusion principles and programs at postsecondary institutions; to ban books addressing issues of self-appreciation and inclusivity; to attack the rights of the LGBTQIA community; to curb the existence of labor unions; to censor and criminalize teaching in public and private school classrooms; and to limit and destroy the Reproductive Freedom of Women in Florida.
